How it Started

Hi, we're Kelley and Lizzy, the founders of Wander Kid Books. Our friendship started in 2016 while working together in Corporate America and living in Memphis, Tennessee. Both non-natives to the city, a bond instantly formed over love of travel, office fashion trends, and southern university pride. Little did we know, life had big things planned for our small-city friendship.

Jump to 2023, and both of us are living in Europe: Lizzy in Amsterdam with her dog, and Kelley in Paris with her husband and kids.

Through adventures together and apart, we both noticed an absence of unique, tasteful keepsakes. We both wanted something that adequately captured our new homes and places we love, to share with friends, family, and most importantly, the littles in our lives.

Because of this, Wander Kid Books was born.

Kelley Stanley

Born in the U.S. and now living in Paris with her husband, two young children, and their dog Ringo, Kelley fell in love with travel while studying abroad and working in Brussels early in her career. With nearly two decades of experience as an auditor and an MBA under her belt, she brings clarity and heart to every page. As a mom immersed in storytime, she’s passionate about crafting tales that spark curiosity in kids and grown-ups alike.

Lizzy Houska

Originally from the U.S. and now based in Amsterdam, Lizzy has explored over 50 destinations—often with her dog Dakota, the real-life inspiration behind Koda. With a background in corporate marketing and a love for meaningful keepsakes, she created the series to capture the magic of travel in a way kids and grown-ups can both enjoy. For Lizzy, there’s nothing better than a story that makes you feel like you’ve been there—or want to go.

Larissa Huber

Originally from the U.K., Larissa is now an Amsterdam-based illustrator with a love for storytelling, sketchbooks, and the everyday magic of childhood. A teaching assistant at an international primary school and a mom of two, she’s surrounded by young imaginations every day—fueling her warm, expressive style. Inspired by animals, European architecture, and the picture books she grew up with (and now reads on repeat), Larissa brings Wander Kid’s world to life with heart and charm.
